A Season of Courage

Dear friend of courage,

Every day at Courage Worldwide, we witness miracles of hope in the lives of children who were once trapped in unthinkable darkness. It is pure joy to witness tangible transformation in the girls who call Courage House home but to also hear from some of our alumni that we continue to provide wrap-around services for! This week, I had one of our former residents reach out to me to say that she had passed all of her college exams and wanted to thank us for our financial support!

Do you know how rare that is?

Courage Kids in College

Research shows that 81% of young people in the U.S. say they want to go to college. Unfortunately, less than 3% of foster youth ever graduate—and most of our residents in the U.S. have been in the foster care system. For most, the dream of higher education is cut short by lack of family support and overwhelming financial barriers.

Right now, three of our former residents here in the U.S.—brave young women who survived trafficking—are defying the odds. One is pursuing a nursing degree, one is working toward a degree in Social Work, and another is getting ready to study for her Master’s. They have no family to turn to for encouragement in their academic journey or for tuition help. So we step in.

In Tanzania, we have 19 young women pursuing further education in college and university because of the emotional support they receive from our staff and the financial support they receive from you!

Education is a must for survival—no matter the location!

The gift of education is not only one that changes the future direction of an individual young woman but it also impacts generations in the years to come.

Your gift today ensures these young women are not held back by financial barriers or excessive student debt. Together, we can rewrite their story and help them achieve what most never get the chance to do.

A 10-Year-Old Survivor in Tanzania

This month, a 10-year-old American girl was placed in our care at Courage House Tanzania by the Human Trafficking Task Force in Tanzania, in partnership with the U.S. Embassy.

Brought overseas by her American parents, she was subjected to abuse and exploitation before was recovered. Today she is safe in our care but we are unsure of what her future looks like since she has no safe family in the U.S. to take her. We will continue to work with the U.S. Embassy in Tanzania for the best solution for her but until then, we are providing for all her tangible and intangible needs to ensure not only her safety but her future—wherever that may be.

Your generosity directly supports her care and recovery.

Opening Courage House Nevada

Here in Nevada, we are preparing to open a residential psychiatric treatment center for trafficked minors. The licensing cost alone is $9,800. We also must recruit, hire, and train 20 new staff members before opening.

However, we have not been alone in this endeavor!

Many of you have given to this dream in Nevada so that we can accelerate the opening and bring girls home much sooner than we planned. In fact, not only have we had financial gifts to make this possible, we have also had two local churches step forward and furnish the home, convert the garage into offices, repair some fencing, install cameras, cut trails, and clear land for fire prevention. We so appreciate this army of volunteers!

Our goal is to open in November of this year! But we need your help to cross the finish line.

We still have safety measures that need to be put in place like alarm systems, an electronic gate, camera hook-ups, new fencing, and weeks of trauma training for our new staff and much more! Your gift today ensures we are ready to welcome girls home in just a few short weeks!

Ongoing Global Care

In addition to college tuition, educational support, and meeting the unique needs of an American child in Tanzania, we still must daily care for 100 girls and their children across our three campuses in Tanzania. Your gift today will not only protect and heal children in crisis, but it will also empower courageous young women to build futures once though impossible.

We will soon be mailing you our 2025 Impact Report to share more details of all that has been miraculously accomplished this year through your support—but I could not wait to invite you to step in today and partner with us to not only multiply our efforts but accelerate them! There are far too many young girls who need a safe place to heal and call home.

Would you prayerfully consider making a generous gift right now?

Every gift matters. Every dollar makes a difference. And every prayer lifts up a child in need of restoration.
