Courage Café Fulfills Its Purpose

Courage Café Fulfills Its Purpose.

The vision of Courage Worldwide has always been twofold. First and foremost, Courage Houses are safe houses for victims of trafficking. These spaces are healing and restorative, but not open to the public due to the nature of the girls we work with. Their safety and healing is our number one priority.

The second mission of our organization is to bring the community together in unity to rally against human trafficking and violence against the most vulnerable. As Courage Houses are very private locations, we needed a community space to do that. To serve as a catalyst for bringing awareness to the plight of children being sexually exploited in the local community, the country, and the world. That’s where Courage Café comes in. On June 1st, we had our first fundraiser dinner and awareness event for Courage House Tanzania at Courage Café, and it was a hit! What we thought would be a small, first event sold out in 24 hours plus a waitlist. The Moshi community was eager for an evening of sushi and Asian food to support a good cause. We were excited to have a sushi chef (the son of our Executive Directors) visiting us from the US, which made this night a big success. We expected 50 people at maximum to come, but over 90 people attended! This was a great opportunity for us to educate and involve people from all sectors of the community in the fight against trafficking in Moshi, Tanzania.

Mt. Kilimanjaro came out from under the clouds in perfect timing for our event, which was held in the beautiful Courage Café garden.

Lots of smiling faces, friends and family and great sushi!

Executive Director of Courage Worldwide Tanzania, Stephanie Midthun, shared about Courage House Tanzania and the story of Courage Worldwide.

Not only are these events a lot of fun, but are a great opportunity to educate the community on the realities of human trafficking and how we can come together to support survivors at Courage House Tanzania.

The community of Moshi is already excited for the next international food night! We are also excited to connect with every sector of the community even more, to increase awareness of trafficking and exploitation, to stop this crime against the most vulnerable, and support survivors in their journey to healing and restoration.

You can also join us in this mission, just from your own home! With a click of the green button down below, you can become a one-time or monthly donor. Help us end sex trafficking and exploitation, and rescue and restore victims at Courage House Tanzania.

God bless you and your loved ones!
